Birth of a new design - part 3

The number of colours is mounting - I am already using 48. I had hoped to be more economical, but each bird seems to demand a different set.

It is perfectly all right when I am painting or even charting to have as many colours as I like, but I have to take into account the printer.

He has to make each colour on the canvas sufficiently different from the next one so that it is easy to see where each starts and finishes. It also must look similar to the shade of thread in which it is to be stitched.

I will have to see what happens next.
