In South Wales there is a magical Victorian fantasy called Castell Coch (Red Castle). Built for Lord Bute in the early 20th Century and now owned by CADW, it is a continuing source of delight and inspiration. The walls of an octagonal room are exquisitely covered with paintings of characters from Aesop's fables. It is here that Beth Russell saw her Hare and Tortoise. Her kit captures all the delicate colourings and contrasting characters in the painting.
