Fox in the Woods
£165.00
Description
Needlepoint kit for cushion or stool top
Fox in the Woods is the first part of a new collection inspired by a Henry Dearle design. Produced in 1887, it was his first tapestry design woven by Morris & Co. during the Royal Jubilee Exhibition held in Manchester.
Unlike the more static scene depicted in the Greenery tapestry, the fox here is leaping through the summer woods. The second part of the collection features a different section of the work involving two running pheasants.
