Birth of a new design - part 1

This is the start of a rather ambitious venture.

My inspiration is an exotic design created by Morris for his first weaving project. It seems he rejected it in favour of Acanthus & Vine (which has roughly the same dimensions) ; the complexity would have been daunting for a first attempt.

It certainly is a challenge. As I am just at the beginning it is an opportunity to show how a design develops, which we thought might be of interest to some stitchers.
