Birth of a new design - part 10

I have been working on this spasmodically, so the changes have been slow, and I felt not exciting enough to show. However, now I compare part 9 with this I feel a little heartened, as more has been accomplished than I dared hope.

Very importantly, I have reduced the number of colours to a manageable 50, and I think their positioning is more logical for anyone prepared to take up the challenge to stitch it.

The palm leaves and dates look more realistic, but not quite finished. I am looking forward to seeing how it will look with a different background colour.

Is the end in sight…?
